About Cam I Am Endurance Coaching, LLC

I started Cam I Am Endurance Coaching to help runners of all backgrounds discover what they’re capable of — with structure, support, and a coaching relationship built on trust. Whether someone is lacing up for the first time or chasing a new PR, my goal is simple: create a training experience that fits your life, listens to your body, and builds confidence and improvement as a result.

My Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy is simple. If you want to run long distances faster, then you have to have the capacity and strength to do so. Simple, right? We often tend to overcomplicate things and focus on the wrong things and forget the basics. This is why a coach can be very beneficial. First, Aerobic capacity is crucial. This is your base; it’s the foundation and if you’re wanting to build a bigger house you must first build a big enough foundation. Second, strength is your friend. If the foundation is big but weak, it will crumble after time. Strength training (Lifting, hill sprints, long runs) is vital for endurance runners to be able to stay strong throughout the race. Strength is also crucial to prevent injury. These are the two foundations for endurance runners; everything is built on top of these two things. My programs prioritize these especially for the newer less experienced runners. So, my philosophy simply put, is build the basics first (aerobic capacity and strength/muscle endurance), build everything else once the foundation is set. And personalize the plan to the individual as every athlete is different.

Meet the Coach

I am a coach who believes that progress comes from consistency, communication, and a willingness to meet athletes exactly where they are. Every runner deserves a plan that feels doable, a coach who listens, and a path forward that builds both fitness and confidence. I feel this way because of some of the experiences I’ve had. From starting running doing my first marathon and not having a clue what I was doing, which ultimately led to injury and a poor training block where I ultimately missed my time goal and found myself walking at mile 24, to winning my first 100K by 50 minutes on a course that had roughly 9,500ft of elevation gain, finishing in 9:31:55. My experience along with my certification gives me the foundation I need to help others which is why I got in to coaching. To help others skip some of the hard lessons I have learned and to also help them reach their goals and build their confidence!

Below are my most Current race PR’s.

  • 5K - 17:04 at the Mabane Dogwood Festival 2026.

  • Marathon - 3:16.24 at the Cary Greenways Tour 2024

  • 50K - 3:53:01 at the Big Butt 50K 2025

  • 100K - 9:31:55 at the Looking Glass 100K 2025
