Time Moves Fast - Week 10 Training for Grindstone 100 Miler
REFLECTING ON MY TRAINING
It’s hard to believe this is week 10 of my build to Grindstone 100M. If you had told me I’d be happy to run a 36 mile week 10 weeks into my build I would’ve asked if you meant a 36 mile day.
I feel like I say it every week now but injuries are just hard. Not being able to do what you could because your body is t capable is tough. Makes me dread getting old or disabled in some way.
The good news is that time goes by quickly. It seems like just a week or so that I injured my foot but it’s been 8 weeks. Crazy! And this is now my second week back running and I ran every day. The bad news is that time goes by quickly and we take so many things for granted. We caught up on so many things that don’t matter so use your time wisely and don’t waste it.
NOT FULLY BACK YET
Doing a 35+ mile week felt good but I may have overdone it a little bit Saturday. I did 10 miles on trails and I started to feel a nagging in my foot around mile 7. I loosened my shoe on my right foot (the one I injured) and kept going. That helped but I did slight irritate it.
So I still need to be cautious and do my best to not cause any setback as we are only 5 weeks out from race day and if I’m not healthy than I have no chance of hitting any of my goals.
