The Marathon PR Series
The Marathon PR Series is designed for runners who have some training experience and are ready to take their marathon training seriously.
These plans take a more aggressive approach to intensity than a typical beginner marathon plan while offering a range of weekly mileage so you can choose the plan that best fits your current fitness, experience, and goals. Plans range from sub-5:00 to sub-2:45.
As a coach, I believe individualized coaching is the best way to account for the fact that every runner is different. But I also know that coaching isn't the right fit for everyone. These plans give you the structure, progression, and guidance to train with purpose while allowing you to execute the training on your own.
Each Cam I Am plan includes an Introduction and Resources tab with a 37-page Cam I Am Marathon Training Guide ($8.99 value). The guide is designed to help you understand the reasoning behind your training, navigate your plan, and prepare for race day.
Each plan is 16 weeks and divided into four phases:
1. Prep Phase — 4 weeks
Build your foundation with easy mileage, strides, moderate running, and gradually increasing long-run volume.
2. Build Phase — 4 weeks
Continue building mileage, particularly through the long run, while introducing more structured mid-week quality workouts.
3. Marathon-Specific Phase — 6 weeks
Training becomes increasingly specific to the demands of the marathon. Mid-week workouts become more challenging, and marathon-pace work is incorporated into long runs.
4. Taper — 2 weeks
Reduce training volume while maintaining intensity so you can arrive at race day recovered and ready to perform.
Each plan also includes guidance for completing an Functional Threshold Heart Rate (FTHR) field test to establish a more individualized starting point for your heart-rate training zones.
Each Plan: $14.99
